Welcome to the Mechanical Engineering Department at Al-Qadisiyah University, where we are at the forefront of education, research, and innovation in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

About the Department

Established in 2005, the Mechanical Engineering Department was among the pioneering departments in the College of Engineering. Our primary commitment is to provide high-quality education and advance scientific research in the field of Mechanical Engineering. We are dedicated to preparing engineers who are proficient in implementing mechanical aspects of service and development engineering projects. Additionally, we foster the development of researchers capable of conducting advanced research to serve the community and elevate the quality of education for mechanical engineers.

Our department offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in mechanical engineering, comprising 165 teaching and training credits over four academic years. Upon graduation, our students are well-equipped to apply mathematics, science, and engineering principles to solve complex mechanical engineering problems.

The academic year commences on the first of September and concludes on the first of July. During this period, students engage in a comprehensive curriculum that provides them with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead and direct engineering projects, particularly those related to the mechanical aspects of supervision and implementation.

In 2018, we introduced a Master of Science program in Mechanical Engineering (M.S. of Applied and Power Mechanics) to offer advanced classes and research opportunities, keeping our students up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

Over the years, our department has expanded its teaching staff to include eighteen Ph.D. and nine Master’s degree holders, thanks to the dedication of successive department chairs and support from the college’s administration. The department council formulates our scientific policy, and the department’s leadership oversees its implementation through various committees, such as the examination committee, scientific committee, student guidance committee, acquisition committee, and curriculum development committee.
